(That Doesn't Mean you Have to Be Together Now or Forever)
I hear this a lot, and I’ve experienced it myself.
Trust me, because I only date magical people. People who, when I try to describe them, probably sound like cartoons or characters from a romance novel.
People who show me new things and open up parts of me that I didn’t know were there.
You know the type.
And fuck if you don’t just love the way you feel when you’re with them.
It makes you want to hold on for dear life.
Who wouldn’t? Anybody in their right mind would want to drink up every last bit of this magic.
But maybe this was just a stop along the road and being together is not in the cards.
So then what? What about the magic? Will you ever feel it again? Is it even possible to find another person who is so unique?
And my first response is, “Babe, I know you’re sad. I know you’re worried. I know you want more.”
Me too, sometimes.
And the simple answer is, “I don’t know, but probably yes, you will find other special people.”
But the real thing to learn here is that now you know.
Now you know what’s possible. Now you know what lights you up.
And here is the invitation. It’s not finding it in someone else, it’s feeling the light in YOU and leaning into that magic for yourself.
If you love the way you felt with them, be that way on your own.
If you love how you lit up at parties by their side, channel more of that energy on your own, and maybe even find a sidekick who loves the way YOU light THEM up.
Everything you love about that person who blew your mind is something you can embody more of yourself. (Yes you can!)
